Building Your Resume

Need help in building or updating your resume?  Here are a few ideas to think about.

  • Create a brief summary that covers your experience, skills, aptitudes and traits.
  • Promote any leadership positions that you held including descriptions of individuals or teams that you managed.
  • Describe responsibilities you may have had collaborating with cross functional teams / departments.
  • Describe measurable accomplishments that you achieved.  Did you contribute to a reduction in cost or increase in profits?
  • Describe your accountability with regards to budgets and financial forecasting, if applicable.
  • Promote your abilities and success stories with regards to problem-solving.
  • Describe any experience you have with speaking engagements.
  • Describe the scope of your experience with regards to travel, domestic and international, if applicable.
  • Promote additional languages that you are fluent in.
  • Describe the tools, programs, software that you are experienced working with.
  • Highlight the professional associations you belong to.
  • Highlight any formal publications.
  • Highlight any special awards or recognitions received.
